WELDING I

A semester long course that introduces students to the valuable skills of welding.  Students will complete a skills sheet demonstrating the ability to weld a variety of weld joints with ARC, MIG, & TIG, as well as learn to use various cutting tools and methods such as oxo-fuel and plasma.

WELDING II

A semester or year long course that focuses on metal fabrication.  Students will learn to read plans, figure out a bill of materials and utilize their welding skills to fabricate a variety of projects ranging from metal art to trailers.  Students will also get the opportunity to learn how to design using TorchMate CAD and use the Plasma CNC table to cut out their designs.  Many students also get a taste of Agricultural Mechanics and work on a variety of projects ranging from lawn mowers and vehicles to tractors and farm equipment.

PLANT SCIENCE

A year long course where students will be introduced to soil science, land judging, plant parts & function, plant reproduction and requirements for optimum plant growth. They will learn skills related to landscape design and greenhouse maintenance.  In the spring, students will learn everything that goes into plant production in preparation for our annual plant sale in May.

NATURAL RESOURCES

A year long introduction into various fields related to natural resources.  This class has a strong focus on aquaculture and aquaponics.  Students will have the opportunity to work in our state of the art fish lab learning everything from water quality and the Nitrogen cycle to how fish grow and develop.  They will have the opportunity to raise fish up to market size and then fillet them for sale to the community.  In this course, students will be able to make a custom fishing rods to keep as well as sell to the public.

BUILDING CONSTRUCTION

A semester long course where students will learn the different applications of the construction trade.  In this class students will learn framing, siding & roofing while constructing a variety of projects.
